Cutest Little…

…..Yoda!

As soon as Squirms was born, Matt started to brainstorm ideas for their father/daughter Halloween costume. One of his first ideas was the one that stuck – he as Luke Skywalker and Squirms as Yoda, especially from that one scene in Empire Strikes Back. His costume never went anywhere, so we’re left with just Squirms.

I found a pattern via Ravelry for the Yoda ears hat then adapted another for the cloak portion. I think it turned out really well for only a few days work.

Knitting Details – Hat

Pattern: Yoda or Bat  Hat Knitting Pattern by Melody Rogers (Rav link) Size made: 3-6 month size Yarn: Berroco Remix (about a million fiber types)

Amount used:  ~65 yards
Project Started: 6 October 2014

Project Completed: 12 October 2014 (yeah, I am slowwww) Modifications: None except I screwed didn’t really follow anything from the ear portion of the pattern than the shaping of them.

Knitting Details – Cloak

Pattern: Little Luxury Kimono by Lion Brand Yarn (Rav link) Size made: 12 month size Yarn: Eco Wool

Amount used:  ~350 yards
Project Started: 12 October 2014

Project Completed: 27 October 2014 (finished knitting on the 24th) Modifications: Made it in garter rather than stockinette. Knit a single, very long chain of stitches and did not sew them onto the sweater itself.
